Farnsfield CC

Welcome to Farnsfield CC

We know from references found in Nottinghamshire newspapers that a cricket match was played in Farnsfield in June 1817.

However, the ground we now occupy was first used in 1862 when the Newark Advertiser of 25th June that year reported a well contested match between Farnsfield and Nottingham United Commercial which Farnsfield won by 7 wickets.

In 1920 Farnsfield joined the North Notts Cricket League and later the Nottinghamshire County League, winning the Championship Trophy in 1930, the final season before the league ceased to function.

After the 2nd World War, Farnsfield helped to found the Mansfield and District League, winning the Championship trophy for the first 3 seasons.

For many years now the club has had teams competing in the Bassetlaw & District League, first winning the the Division 1 championship in 1989, the same year our 2nd XI also won the 2nd team championship - a notable double.
